Moonshine Ink is North Lake Tahoe/Truckee’s independent newspaper, on streets since 2002. We produce a monthly print publication with 24,000 monthly readers, breaking news emails sent to over 1,400 subscribers, a frequently updated website, and a comprehensive and up-to-date TAP Calendar of events. In addition to providing the community with quality in-depth reporting and information, we offer local businesses and organizations an effective and affordable marketing outlet.

Committed to keeping Tahoe smart, we cover everything from breaking news to inspiring stories and distribute our paper for FREE on the second Friday of every month in over 200 locations. Over the years, we have been honored to receive the following awards:

Most recently Moonshine Ink was awarded five accolades from the 2017 Better Newspaper Contest in the categories of Best Investigative Series, Best Sports Feature, Civi - Community Service Award, Social Media Journalism, and Best Series Ad idea. See full list of awards, here.

Moonshine Ink is fortunate to have a staff comprised of talented professionals who have been honing their craft for years. Meet the Moonshine team above, and then stop by our Truckee office and say hi sometime. #keeptahoesmart
