In addition to the program’s five solar sites, which include more than 5,000 solar panels, the county also accomplished savings of $1.7 million in deferred maintenance costs with the replacement of HVAC units, lighting, and energy-efficient building controls at 17 different county sites.

Martis Valley Mechanical Receives 2017 Best of Truckee Award

The Truckee Award Program, an initiative that acknowledges the achievements of local businesses, gave its 2017 Best of Truckee Award in the Mechanical Contractors category to Martis Valley Mechanical. Recognition is given to those companies that have shown the ability to implement programs to generate competitive advantages and long-term value, and establish clear marketing success in the community. Heating contractors and business owners Jeff Griffo and Greg Haugen formed Martis Valley Mechanical in 2010 after seeing the need for more owner oversight of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) projects.
