Your ideas are heartily encouraged. Here are some regular Ink features to consider, when submitting your thoughts:
FEEL GOOD STORY
Every print edition ends on a positive note. These stories can be about neighbors helping neighbors, a touching love story, a daring rescue mission, a community-minded business, or any story that leaves you with the warm and fuzzies. See past Feel Good stories here. Email email@example.com with your idea.
Community discourse is vitally important. Please consider strengthening our community by sharing your thoughts, ideas, and constructive criticism. Reserve your space by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
My Shots are opinion pieces that must take a stance on an issue — typically starting with a problem, establishing an argument for your stance, then answering with a call to action. The word limit is 600. Please include a short bio at end of the piece and send a head shot. This piece from the New York Times gives good guidance on writing an effective My Shot: Tips for Aspiring Op-Ed Writers.
Letters to the Editor
Letters can take many forms — feedback on Moonshine content, highlighting a community hero, bringing up an issue… the sky is the limit. But word count is limited to 200.
YOU ASKED. THEY ANSWERED.
Got a question on your mind? Readers submit burning questions about how things work in the community and we track down the answers with the powers that be. Submit your question to email@example.com.
NOMINATE A STANDOUT PERSON
We regularly feature community heroes, be it in our seasonal publications or our Driven series that highlights local athletes who get after it not for sponsorships or fame, but for the obsession passion that drives so many of us into the outdoors. If you have someone to nominate, tell us who they are, and why they should be featured in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
