Gar Woods to Host 7th Annual Labor Day
Fireworks Spectacular on Sunday, September 1st
Carnelian Bay, CA August 9, 2018 – Home of the “Wet Woody”, Gar Woods Grill &
Pier and The Monte Foundation will be hosting their 7th Annual Fireworks
Spectacular on Sunday, September 1st at 8:30pm. You are invited to sit front row on
the action and watch the Labor Day Weekend sky light up just off Gar Woods pier.
There will be 2 barges setting off fireworks this year. Many have said this is the best
fireworks show they’ve ever seen, so don’t miss out!
The lakefront fireworks show will not only pay homage to the social and economic
achievement of workers but will also benefit North Tahoe-Truckee Area School
Sports Programs. In the last six years this event has raised over $100,000 that went
directly to funding local sports programs and they are out to break a record this
In addition to the money Gar Woods donates from the evening, High School athletes
will be selling glow sticks, flashing headbands, and other “Fireworks Swag” on the
beach that will contribute to the proceeds. Guests can also leave a donation on their
credit card, write a big fat check or leave lots of cash while dining at Gar Woods, Bar
of America, or Caliente this month. 100% of these donations will go directly to
school sports programs in the Tahoe-Truckee Area.
Gar Woods is an iconic cornerstone restaurant in North Tahoe known for it’s
amazing food, drinks and view. Owner Tom Turner strongly believes in giving back
to the community that has supported Gar Woods for 31 years. He looks forward to
this year’s benefit that will contribute to the well-being of North Tahoe and Truckee.
The Fireworks show is best viewed from Gar Woods Beach. If you plan to dine at Gar
